Novara Italy

Novara is the capital city of the Province of Novara in the Piedmont region of northwest Italy, west of Milan. It is the second most populous city in Piedmont after Turin and serves as an important commercial crossroads on the routes from Milan to Turin and from Genoa to Switzerland. The most imposing monument in the city is the Basilica of San Gaudenzio, featuring a dome 121 metres (397 ft) high, designed by Alessandro Antonelli and completed in 1888. In Piazza Giacomo Matteotti stands the Palazzo Natta-Isola, which houses the offices of the provincial government and the prefecture of Novara. The palace’s most distinctive feature is its clock tower.
