Novara Italy

Novara is the capital city of the Province of Novara in the Piedmont region in northwest Italy, west of Milan. It is the second most populous city in Piedmont after Turin and is an important crossroads for commercial traffic on the routes from Milan to Turin and from Genoa to Switzerland. The most striking monument in the city is the Basilica of San Gaudenzio, with a dome 121 metres (397 ft) high, designed by Alessandro Antonelli and completed in 1888. In Piazza Giacomo Matteotti stands the Palazzo Natta-Isola, home to the provincial and prefectural offices of Novara, whose most distinctive feature is its clock tower.
